2) Sometimes, the first PC GoTo slew gets close to a target and is synced without difficulty, and when I do another PC GoTo in order to reach the nearby target, the whole process goes smoothly. 1) When I go from the first plate solve sequence in PC to the next target, the scope slews, settles and shoots the next image for solving but PC then shows the following in the APT log line: "PointCraft Error: Can't Start Solving" followed by "Settling after GoTo or Rotation change." The Settling message does display for a fews seconds in the upper left corner of the screen followed by the "C" and I can then initiate the plate solve manually. However, there are still a few odd behaviors. All good in that respect, at least for last night. From there, I did a PC GoTo to IC1396 and everything went well with another brief imaging sequence. Next, I did another single solving image and PC/ASTAP solved and synced it easily. Using that GoTo function, the scope slewed correctly and I completed a brief imaging sequence. I then manually entered coordinates for the center of the Cygnus Loop, since it's not really a single DSO in the Object database. PointCraft ("PC") solved it (ASTAP) quickly and synced normally. Much more successful than last week!Īfter getting connected via ASCOM interface, a shift-click scope connection to APT and making sure Track button was activated, I manually slewed with the hand box controller and shot a single image near Deneb. Ivo, some further follow up after a few clear sky hours last night.
